We have to say, it doesn’t *feel* as sturdy as either of those two, but in terms of performance it is an impressive deal for the price. It has an air flow rating of 70 Litres a minute – equivalent to about 2.4CFM! So it certainly packs a punch. We tested it on our 255/70/20 test tire and it had absolutely no problem taking it from 15 PSI to 40 in less than 3 minutes – not far off the performance of the Viair. It also comes with a coiled hose – although it is only 10ft long, which we found isn’t nearly as practical as the Viair’s. The manufacturer states that the device should only be used for 20 minutes at a time in order to avoid damage to the cigarette lighter due to excessive heat – which worries me slightly. There is no indication of whether the same is true when connecting directly to the battery, but you’d want to be careful. Overall, this is an impressive performance per dollar unit, but the build quality and questionable warranty let it down – and explain why it is so relatively cheap compared to the other portable compressors more suited to larger tires.
